Illness

When one person is ill, the whole family is ill.

Acute or long term illness effects each and every family member.  Chores need to be re-assigned, monetary considerations need to be re-explored, child care may have to be re-designed, and family resources must be re-assessed.

The illness can be physiological or emotional;  regardless, it's impact on the one carrying the illness overflows to those who care for the family member who is ill.

Dealing with illness carries a great deal of responsibility and can produce what feels like insurmountable stress.  Stress, in and of itself, has been demonstrated to compromise one's immune system.  Thus the ill get sicker, the care givers and other family members can become sick.

If you or someone in your family is dealing with an acute or long term illness, please seek supportive counseling.

While caring for the one who is ill, safeguard the health of the other family members.
